MISSION

The Anacostia Business Improvement District aims to support a thriving and diverse commercial district. To that end, the BID’s priorities are as follows:

  • support a clean, safe, and vibrant community by providing supplemental support to services provided by the District of Columbia Government

  • attract and retain commercial office and retail tenants

  • attract local residents and visitors to be returning customers

  • increase sales, create jobs, and increase occupancy rates in commercial properties

  • increase and manage public and private investment

  • increase the use of technology for training and marketing


EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Kristina Noell

In 2018, the Anacostia BID Board of Directors announced the appointment of Kristina Noell as Executive Director. With over 20 years of experience working with small businesses and economic and neighborhood development, the board felt Kristina was an excellent choice to lead the BID in expanding its mission and reach. Before joining the Anacostia BID, Kristina served as Director of Business Development, Strategic Alliances, and Initiatives at the Washington DC Economic Partnership (WDCEP). Before WDCEP, she worked for the Washington DC Convention and Sports Authority (Events DC). Kristina has been recognized for her enthusiasm for supporting DC small businesses, creativity in accomplishing the Anacostia BID's mission, and ability to expand member capacity and success.
